At first glance, vectors appear to belong to purely mathematical and solely theoretical concepts that are unlikely to be observed in everyday life, especially in the environment of an average individual’s daily routine. However, on closer inspection, vectors can be spotted in nearly every aspect of daily life, remaining inconspicuous but, nevertheless, vital in people’s lives. Allowing locating the direction of movement and the extent of force applied to a specific object, vectors guide people in daily activities, games, and other aspects of their lives.
Everyday life has a plethora of examples of vectors being used to define direction. For example, when being in a vehicle, it is important to use vectors to understand how fast other vehicles move. For instance, the car that might seem as motionless moves at the same speed as the one in which an individual observing it is. In addition, the perceived velocity of vehicles moving in the opposite direction will appear to be much faster than it is for observers standing still. Another example of vectors being applied in real life is playing a ball game.
