The COVID-19 vaccination is the public’s most excellent chance for putting a stop to the present epidemic. While the objective is to get the vaccination to as many individuals as possible as soon as possible, immunization supplies will be restricted at first. As a novel vaccination, patients and doctors have numerous questions. Delaying vaccination exposes a person to disease over a more extended period of time, increasing the potential for significant severe morbidity and mortality. It is suggested that children receive the specified dose for their years old at the time of vaccination delivery (Ioannidis, 2021). This paper was written to explore the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics for COVID-19 vaccines for children 12 years of age and older.

Immunizations are both practical and safe at saving citizens and societies from contagious diseases. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises COVID-19 immunization for all children and adolescents aged five and above who do not have restrictions to utilizing a COVID-19 vaccine appropriate for their age (Maldonado et al., 2021). For COVID-19 immunization, any COVID-19 vaccine permitted through Emergency Use Authorization or registered by the US Food and Drug Administration, prescribed by the CDC, and long-term health status suitable should be used.

The involvement of pediatricians in encouraging vaccination among their patient population and in their community is crucial, particularly among individuals at the highest risk of severe disease, incarceration, and mortality from COVID-19, as well as their domestic connections. Parents, guardians, and sufferers may have questions about the immunization that need to be handled. Doctors play an important role in assisting with the following questions, as well as in eliminating existing inequities and removing any obstacles to getting the COVID-19 vaccination in their neighborhood.
