The single thing that all nursing specialties have in connection is that nurses assist patients in maintaining their entire wellness and health. Injector Nurse is increasingly becoming a popular profession, particularly in the field of cosmetic surgery. Thus, it is not uncommon to find an aesthetic nurse working for a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon at a health spa or in their clinic. When it comes to cosmetic or dermatological operations, aesthetic nurses are primarily concerned with giving assistance and care to people undergoing dermatological or cosmetic procedures for health or other individual objectives (Kontis & Lacombe, 2018). Aesthetic nurses perform comparable tasks and obligations to other registered nurses. Nevertheless, depending on their area of specialty, their duties may entail extra obligations.

The above aside, an aesthetic nurse injector also serves many other functions. They comprise engaging with every customer to detail the treatments offered by the business, discussing the drawbacks and benefits of the particular procedure, walking them through the procedure gradually, and administering the procedure. In addition, following every surgery, the nurse delivers further advice to the patient regarding follow-up and subsequent health services (Kontis & Lacombe, 2018). Apart from these customer services and patient engagement responsibilities, the nurse is also responsible for a range of technical functions. These tasks include filling injection needles, ensuring that procedures and medications are available, and maintaining sterility in tools and medical locations. In general, these duties are summarized below:

  • Performing non-invasive aesthetic treatments such as chemical peels, dermal fillers, and wrinkle injections;
  • Preparation of patients for surgery and post-operative care;
  • Researching and experimenting with new techniques and procedures to remain updated;
  • Examining the client’s skin-related medical concerns and other skin conditions, like aging;
  • Helping physicians and surgeons doing cosmetic surgery and operations;
  • Preparation of facilities and sterilization of medical equipment.
