G Suite is simpler to use than Microsoft Office. It does not require IT experts’ support; hence, it reduces struggle with technology. G Suite promotes productivity, which translates to increased profit. Moreover, Google Drive and Docs have collaborative capability. Individuals can access their work from any computer because Google Docs are stored in the cloud (Stager, 2020). This will reduce the risk of messing with remote servers. Once a file is uploaded to Google’s cloud, the work will be available as long as there is an internet connection. Google Docs provides a good experience on mobile devices, unlike Microsoft Word. Once files are uploaded to Google Drive, Google has control over the document.
In case the security of Google Drive is compromised, it can result in damage to any business. There is a risk of the documents being exposed to third-party and breach of confidentiality. Google Drive is not secure because the user can leave a device unattended or logged in. In case Google was issued a subpoena for this attorney’s document, I think the company can turn it over to the court because the client allowed it to access the files and use the information therein.
Organizations should switch to G Suite because it is easier for multiple users to work on the same spreadsheet or document. Moreover, Google Drive’s Security allows users to take various safety precautions. Once documents are uploaded to Google Drive, they are stored in secure data centers. I prefer G Suite because users can access their files from any device and offer much safety compared to Microsoft Office. I would recommend Google Docs for a firm I am working for because Google has extensive experience securing its users’ data.
